January 2013 069 copyWhat a great evening we had for our Yarlington Wassail. The weather was not too cold and it was all over before the snow hit Somerset.  The Wyvern Jubilee Morris Men were, as always, great entertainment, and started the evening with a performance outside the Stags Head.   Everyone then processed to a nearby orchard where our Wassail Queen Ellie Kew, placed cider soaked toast in an apple tree, saucepans were banged and guns fired, to frighten away evil spirits and we all sang the Wassail Song.  Thanks very much to David Braybon for the use of his orchard and apple tree.
